Peter Andreoli (born April 28, 1941), also known as Peter Anders is an singer and songwriter. Andreoli was born in New York. He grew up to become a record producer and vocalist. Ander's wrote the hit song "Mr. Loney" with his partner Vini Poncia, than later wrote the hit "New York is a Lonely Town" that launched The Tradewinds </wiki/The_Tradewinds>, who later recorded as The Innocence and Anders and Poncia. In 1968, working with his friend and colleague Vincent Poncia Jr. </wiki/Vincent_Poncia_Jr.>, Ander's released The Anders And Poncia Album produced by Richard Perry. Track 7, Smokey Joe's Cafe, features Ry Cooder </wiki/Ry_Cooder> on bottleneck guitar. In 1968 together with Frank Mell (aka Melouso) and Vini Poncia, Ander's founded Map City Records up on 55th Street </wiki/55th_Street_(Manhattan)> off Broadway in New York City. They hired a recording engineer named Peter H. Rosen <http://creativity.net/CCHistory.html> who took the studio from three track recording to four tracks during the recording of the Ander's and Poncia Album. The studio recorded demos for Popcorn Blizzard, Cool and the Gang and personal friends from Rhode Island, "the Blue Jays." Peter Anders and Vini Poncia produced the Blue Jay's first album; recorded at Map City Records with Rosen at the controls. A first single from that album was a song titled "Hang On" by Dick Domane with the flip side, "Its a Hard Thing To Accept" by Johnny Vestano (both of the Blue Jay's). The single failed to make the charts and the band faded from view. Anders would work late into the night playing guitar and singing... recording demos of his material with Rosen at the controls of the studio's 4 track console made up of Ampeg rotary pot mixers and pultec EQs that made up the console. Ander invited many friends including Jay and the American's and Bobby Bloom (who had a hit with Montego Bay) to record in the studio and back him up in demo recordings of his songs. Bloom was hired to produce a Pepsi jingle, part of which was recorded at Map City Records. Several years later Bloom accidentally shot himself (fatally) while cleaning a gun, in front of his wife and good friend Peter Anders, who later married Bloom's widow. The studio had an old laquor disc cutting lathe. Map City Records had a contract with the Robert Stigwood Organization (RSO); publisher of the Brothers Gibb (the Bee Gees) catalog of songs, to make demos of their tunes. Rosen would spend day after day at the lathe transferring reel after reel of song demos from Gibb brothers tape recordings to actual records for distribution to other publishers and recording companies/recording acts.

Axton, Hoyt Wayne, (March 25, 1938 - October 26. 1999) was an American country singer and songwriter. He became prominent in the early 1960s, establishing himself on the West Coast as a folk singer with an earthy style and powerful voice. As he matured, some of his songwriting efforts became well known throughout the world. Among them are "Joy to the world," (which many know better by its opening lyric "Jeremiah was a bullfrog!") and "Greenback Dollar". Elvis covered the song "Never been to Spain" from Hoyt Axton.
Axton, Mae Boren (September 14, 1914 -April 9, 1997) was known in the music industry as the 'Queen Mother of Nashville'. She received a co-writer credit for the song "Heartbreak Hotel". The song was recorded only in twenty minutes. Mae freelanced as a music journalist for Country Song Roundup and served as a regional publicist for Nashville-based concert promoter, " Colonel" Tom Parker. Axton was also the link between Elvis and RCA records; she states that she introduced the Colonel to a 19-year-old Presley after Elvis promotor in Memphis,Bob Neal contacted her about helping Elvis as Neal was closing his promotion business. Mae Boren and Tommy Durden wrote the song in 1955. Durden actually got the idea after reading Miami Herald story about a man who had cut the labels off his clothing and destroyed all documents that could identify him, then left a one-line suicide note: "I walk a lonely street", before killing himself. Momma Mae wrote some 200 songs, 14 of which made the charts, with "Heartbreak Hotel" being number one on the pop chart for 8 weeks, the country chart for 17 weeks and reaching number 3 on the R&B chart. Elvis Presley also recorded "Never Been To Spain" which was written by her son Hoyt Axton , thus recording songs by both mother and son.
